Rock’n’roll is alive and well!
It certainly seems that Rolling Stones members Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards can always get what they want – contrary to the message of their hit song – as they relaxed on board 177ft superyacht Sovereign in Sydney.
The legendary guitarists enjoyed the sunshine and 37-celsius heat as they cruised around Sydney Harbor on board their yacht, which accommodates 12 people and has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, bar and beach club where Ronnie and Keith can unwind on their break from their Australian tour.
Keith, 70, brought his wife Patty Hansen along with him, while Ronnie, 67, was joined on the boat by his wife, Sally and his son.
And despite their notorious lives as two quarters of one of the biggest rock bands in history, it would seem that thoughts of celeb groupies were far from their minds! They were very affectionate with the members of their family, taking photographs and enjoying the time off.
The band performed at the Allphones Arena in Sydney on Wednesday night and will next perform in the Hunter Valley on Saturday night.
They will then appear in Brisbane before moving on to Auckland, New Zealand next week.
Noticeably absent from the yacht were lead singer Mick Jagger and drummer Charlie Watts. While Charlie is renowned for shunning the limelight, Mick has always been center stage – and not just when performing!
However Mick has been going through a difficult time recently, following the death of his girlfriend, fashion designer L’Wren Scott.
While their tour is going very well, The Stones have had to deal with a legal battle with their insurers over an AU$12.7 million (£8 million) claim for cancelled tour dates last year in Australia.
The insurers were refusing to pay the costs of the Stones’ decision to postpone the Australia and New Zealand leg of their world tour.
The band did eventually settle their multi-million-pound claim – but did not enjoy the fact that some many details of the supposedly confidential lawsuit were made public.
Some of the court documents filed in the US suggested Mick suffered ‘acute traumatic stress disorder’ after Miss Scott’s suicide.
It is rumored that the Stones had taken out a £15 million insurance policy in case of any shows being cancelled due to the death of family members.
Either way, representatives for the group said both sides had settled the insurance claim.
So with the claim sorted, they have managed to get on with the tour and with Ronnie aged 67 and Keith recently hitting the big 70, these guys show no sign in slowing down their rockstar lifestyle!
If you fancy getting some real ‘satisfaction’, take a look at the yacht they have enjoyed spending time on – superyacht Sovereign is definitely for rock royalty!
